According to studies, fast cars are more often involved in road accidents compared to other types of cars. People who drive their fast cars almost to the limits sometimes lose control of their cars that they end up either skidding off the road, get into collision with other vehicles and other forms road accidents. However, the good news is that although fast cars are often involved in road accidents, these incidents are not really much related to the technical defects or the overall set-up of the vehicle itself.

Experts believe that fast cars are actually built to perform well on the road but the driving skills of the people behind the wheels may not be at par with the power of the fast car. In most cases, the drivers of fast cars overestimate their driving skills and end up losing control of their cars. Since accidents do happen, it is therefore very important to drive carefully and never abuse the power of your fast car. Furthermore, before you do buy cars, you should check out the safety features of the car thoroughly.

Safety Features That You Should Look For In Fast Cars

The first thing that you need to check when buying fast cars is the safety features. Your car should have antilock braking systems (ABS). The ABS will allow you to stop your car fast. Good ABS will help you deal with certain tight situations on the road. During panic stops, the ABS will allow you to steer you car and prevent any untoward incidents. To learn more about the ABS of fast cars, ask your car dealer to explain to you in details how this feature works. You may also ask the car dealer to demonstrate how the ABS works so that you will have a concrete idea of how your car will perform in tight situations.

Aside from the ABS, you should take a closer look into the traction control of the fast car. This feature will help prevent traction loss while your car is speeding. This feature can be very helpful especially during extreme weathers and when you are driving at top speed in some winding road. Combined with the ABS, the traction control will help you keep your car stable on the road even during bad weathers.

However, since this feature do have its own limitations, driving slowly and carefully during extreme weather conditions is still very much advisable. Never for one moment think that because your car have good safety features, you can still drive fast even during extreme weather conditions.

On the other hand, since accidents do happen, it always pays to check the airbag features of the fast car before you buy it. Look for airbags at the front and side of the car. Knee airbags are also very important.

Rising fuel prices are a reality. So is the technology for a water powered car. Yes, you read that right. Scientists have developed a device that extracts HHO from ordinary water through a process called electrolysis. Although water will not be the primary fuel used, a water powered car can be a genuine solution to our dependence on expensive oil.

While water fueled cars may sound like something out of a science-fiction book, the principles behind this procedure come out of a high school chemistry book. By passing an electric current through water, the individual atoms of hydrogen and oxygen are removed from the water, creating a compound known as HHO. This is a type of gas commonly known as Brown gas that can be burned cleanly while supplying a stable source of energy.

Once produced, the Brown gas is directed to the airflow that is located in the intake manifold of the car’s engine. After this, it is mixed with the gasoline and both fuels are combusted or burned together, creating the power needed to drive the car. The wonderful part about this invention is the fact that it doesn’t require an overhaul of the car’s engine or a costly setup of equipment. Water powered cars only need a device that is placed under the hood. This device can be removed or replaced without a lot of mechanical skill, which increases the advantages of this invention.

The benefits of water fueled cars are enormous. Although the technology doesn’t exist yet to run a car completely on water, this device can dramatically improve gas mileage. The extraction of HHO from water can easily supplement the current fuel usage and decrease our nation’s dependency on foreign oil sources. An added bonus is the more efficient running of the car’s engine. When burned as an energy source, Brown gas produces water and oxygen as by-products. This makes it a more environmentally friendly fuel, as it doesn’t contribute any harmful substances to the atmosphere and even joins in the fight against global warming with its decreased carbon dioxide emission. Besides the favorable impact on the environment and the obvious financial savings to your gas tank, this type of technology also becomes an IRS deduction.

The next question we should all be asking is “Why isn’t this device installed in every car?” That’s harder to answer than explaining how the extraction process works. For many years, the control of oil equals power. If water powered cars became widely available, the quest for oil would diminish and the key world leaders would be shuffled—possibly to their disadvantage.

The science behind water powered cars has been in existence for about 20 years. Unfortunately, this amazing device hasn’t received the accolades or the attention it deserves. The principles behind powering a car with ordinary water have been proven to be effective, yet, the next step is a wider dissemination of this knowledge, which will result in a much-needed outcry by drivers for the government to fully sponsor such technology. The gas crisis is real but water fueled cars may be the start of a brand new and economical solution.

Vehicle tracking is widely known now as something that can be bought and then placed inside the car. These vehicle tracking devices make use of a global positioning system (GPS) that can find the location of the device anywhere on the planet. Because these devices make use of satellites, they work anywhere in the world, and can be accessed from any computer if one has the right software and knows the proper codes.

With vehicle tracking devices like Lo/Jack (used by law enforcement) many people protect their cars from theft. But until the advent of the OnStar service, these devices had to be purchased and then put into the car. But now many GM-made vehicles come standard with OnStar built right in, and there is more to this service than just vehicle tracking.

OnStar makes use of vehicle tracking as a sort of safety measure. You have to pay a monthly service, however (many of the dealers that sell cars with this service offer a year free). You can call OnStar on your cell and they can perform a number of services, including unlocking your doors if you lock your keys in. This might actually worry some people, as it is uncomfortable to know that someone can just unlock your car door like that.

But, the main safety advantage is that if you are in an accident and cannot use your phone, the OnStar people can use the vehicle tracking to locate your car and send emergency crews. This can offer peace of mind. But it does not completely erase the privacy questions raised by a service that has almost total access to your car. Some people are not comfortable with this arrangement. Besides, if you sell the car, there goes your device. When you own the device separately, all you need to do is transfer it to the new car.

Luckily, if you want to be able to have vehicle tracking without the creepy privacy violations, it is possible to buy vehicle trackers separately from a variety of reputable online dealers. This can give you true peace of mind, knowing that your car is as protected as you can make it with your very own vehicle tracking.

In the seventies it seems that most shows were to an extent, known for the cars that the stars drove in them as well as the stars themselves. Some of the shows you will find listed here, the cars in the shows were even known to receive their own fan mail. The weekly hero of the action packed T.V. show was almost assuredly driving a fast and expensive sports car. Most people tend to think they used the same car in every episode but usually there was a whole team of identical cars that followed the stars through the series.

See how many of the following cars you can remember from the seventies:

1. Gran Torino on Starsky and Hutch.

This was everyone’s favorite Muscle Car it seemed, at least the most recognizable.
The paint job (red with that big, white stripe) and the style prompted Ford to add it to their line. Gran Torino enthusiasts still get together to show off their rides to this day!

2. Do you remember Dan Tanna and his 1957 Thunderbird from Vegas?

In this program Robert Urich played a cop in Las Vegas named Dan Tanna who just loved cruising around the strip in his T-Bird. It was a bright and shiny red and was actually two identical cars used that they switched back and forth when taping the show. The character started out with a corvette but ended up with his signature T-Bird instead

3. Who can forget that bumbling detective Columbo and his beat up, old Peugeot? Well it can be categorized as a sports car technically, but it sure didn’t look like one or act like one. But Columbo and his Peugeot was a match made in heaven with their unkempt appearance. Some folks in Ohio ended up with the car after the show was cancelled but they revived it for the Columbo movie in the 80’s.

4. The golden Firebird Espirit of Detective Rockford is another classic. James Garner played Detective Rockford and always seemed to be having financial troubles but he could always afford to drive around in his signature Firebird.

5. 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado from Mannix. Another one of those great detective shows. Joe Mannix was played by actor Mike Connors and it was a very customized vehicle indeed and one that most people remember. Mannix had secret compartments all over the Toronado and it was a little more high tech then many cars of its era. In later episodes Mannix had an array of cars at his disposal but the 1966 Toronado seem to make the most impact.

Each one of these cars is memorialized by film. If you asked anyone about the 70’s famous cars undoubtedly they would mention one or more of these cars. Of course there were a lot of others but these five seem to be the most likely to come up in a conversation about the era. After all they certainly did seem to steal the show right out from under the human stars.

Panasonic Cell Phones No Contract have been in and out of battles with other No Contract Cell Phone companies for quite some time. In the middle of a silly battle for customers, the smartphone and cell phone companies are doing everything necessary to claim their place and keep their customers. Nokia cell phones have just commented they are going to be starting a monetary payment service known as Nokia Money.

Nokia Money will be the use of money completely thru the users hand-held product. These devices will allow users to send money to one another, pay their Nokia cell phone bill, pay a variety of other bills and purchase items like museum tickets and concert tickets online, among other things. This will allow customers to save money and time on traveling to pay certain bills and purchase certain items. It is very useful for those in small town areas who simply aren’t close to the amenities us in the city are accustomed to. With Nokia Money these constant customers will not have to travel simply to pay a bill or buy something for the future, instead they are going to be able to do it from the ease of their home or wherever they could be and can avoid the effort they otherwise could have sustained.

The money is straightforward and secure to utilize and is there only for the advantage of shoppers, not to suffer charges or make things difficult for patrons. It is cutting edge, creative and buyer friendly ideas like this that will actually help cell phone corporations in such a competitive time of their industry. No longer is simply providing a handset enough. If the mobile devices are not loaded in multimedia or business features then the firms must come up with other concepts. Or ideally, come up with cutting edge new phones and new paths to help customers. That is precisely what Nokia Cell Phones has done. They are helping consumers, which will insure loyalty in the future but have also provided a service that many aren’t getting, something that some of the people might be ready to change service suppliers for.

This is a competitive market and people who don’t treat it as such will suffer. Nokia cell phones with their Nokia Money have likely made a sensible and creative call which will keep them on the inside track to success in the future. What will their next innovative phone concept be? That must wait till next time but judging from this it should be a something in the way of potency, always a powerful suite for Nokia.

Are you looking for the perfect gift for the car lover in your life? While there are several things you could get them such as a car picture, a new mug with their favourite car on it or a cool tee shirt with an awesome car on it. But aren’t these all things you have given this person before? For people who love a certain thing the options for gift giving begin to dwindle quickly as the holidays pass by year after year. A person can only have so many pictures, so many new coffee mugs and so many different shirts before the idea of gift giving really becomes a stressful thing instead of a joy. If you are at this point then there is one gift you might not have thought of, a branded model car.

With a printed model car you can not only choose the kind of car you want to purchase but you can also chose the colour of the car and the details that will go on it. These promotional model cars can then also be personalised with the gift recipients name on the hood, trunk or down the side of the car. That will make this particular promotional gift one that is so much more personal and enjoyable.

So what occasions are the best for giving a branded model car? Just about any occasion will be appropriate for giving the gift of a promotional model car. Ideally you want to give you gift to a person who is old enough to be responsible for the care of the branded model cars. These gifts are not really toys to be played with rather they are items to be admired.

If you have a child who is turning 16 years old and getting his or her license then a branded model car would be a great gift for their sweet 16. You could also give this branded model car to a child who is turning 18 years old and heading into adulthood. Giving the gift of a special branded model car can end up being the highlight of a very special birthday.

A branded model car is also a great gift to give to someone who is retiring. Many people who have a passion for cars will begin to develop that passion even more after they retire. Giving them the gift of a printed model car would be a great farewell present. Don’t forget to personalise it with a “Happy Retirement” along with the date so they can always remember when they received this very special gift.

As you can see there is no set holiday or occasion where you can or cannot give the gift of a printed model car. Just make sure to think long and hard about the perfect model along with the perfect colour since you will have so many different models and colours to choose from this will be the hard part. Picking out a great message to personalise the model cars with will be the easy part.

Salzburg is one of Europe’s most popular cities. Although relatively small, (population around 150,000) it has an abundance of sight-seeing attractions and provides tourists with an inspirational combination of mountain views and historic monuments.

The city of Salzburg is located in the Salzburg region of Austria close to the border with Bavaria, (Germany). Its name means “Salt Castle” referring to the deposits of salt in the area that made the city wealthy as a centre of the medieval salt trade and its beautiful white castle.

Salzburg is an incredibly beautiful city that has many outstanding examples of both Romanesque and Baroque architecture. Everywhere you look you will see reminders that this city was birthplace of Mozart. His memory is preserved and celebrated in several museums and through regular musical events that take place in the city.

The following, top ten Salzburg travel tips are for things to see and do within the city itself. All of them can be easily reached without requiring any transport

1. Above all else, do not miss visiting the Salzburg Castle

Dominating the city, this magnificent, white, fairy-tale, castle is Europe’s best preserved and largest intact medieval fortress. It is the kind of place you want to look at from every possible angle. Walking in the narrow streets of the old town, you turn each corner hoping to be provided with yet another view of the majestic building sitting at the top of the overlooking Monchsberg rock. When you are walking the hills opposite the Monchsberg, you are treated to views of the castle across the valley (see tip 10 below). When you are walking around the Monchsberg itself you constantly look up at the mighty fortress walls, towering above you. From here and from the castle ramparts you are provided with spectacular views over the city and the surrounding countryside below. Inside the castle, the superbly organised tours reveal many fascinating features and historical facts from its origins in 1077 right through to the twentieth century wars.

2. The Salzburg Dom – the city’s cathedral

The cathedral is another great place to soak up the history of Salzburg. It was opened in 1628 on the site of earlier cathedrals, the earliest of which was built in 767.

3. St Peters Abbey

This Benedictine monastery is the oldest active monastery in Austria, dating back to 696 AD. It is located in oldest quarter of Salzburg and will provide many fascinating insights into the history of the city.

4. Getreidegasse – Salzburg’s medieval shopping precinct

Salzburg’s most fashionable shops can be found in Getreidegasse, a beautiful, medieval alley, almost a mile long, running the length of the old town. Even if some of the shops are overpriced, just strolling along the street is an experience not to be missed.

5. Mozartplatz – Mozart Square

This is the heart of the city and is dominated by a statue of the great composer. The statue is considered to bear only a poor resemblance to Mozart and reveals a glaring historical error inasmuch as it portrays him holding a pencil; pencils were not invented until at least twenty years after the time of Mozart’s death in 1791.

6. Mozart Birthplace

The house where Mozart was born in 1756 has been converted into a not-to-be-missed museum.

7. Mozart’s Residence

Not to be confused with the composers’ birthplace, this wonderful museum is to be found in the new town and is the house where the Mozart family lived between 1773 and 1780.

8. Residenzplatz and Residenz

The Residenzplatz is Salzburg’s largest square. It houses the fifty foot high, Residenzplatz Fountain, probably the most beautiful baroque fountain that exists outside of Italy. The Residenz itself was the residence of Salzburg’s Prince-Archbishops and is open all day for yet another not-to-be-missed place to visit.

9. Mirabell Gardens

The Mirabell Gardens is the place where the children in the Sound of Music danced around the statue of Pegasus singing “Do Re Mi”. The gardens belong to the Mirabell Palace that was built by an Archbishop in 1606 as a residence for his mistress and children! Today it is the office of the Mayor of Salzburg but parts of it are open to tourists.

10. Kauzinerberg

This beautiful hill reaches a height of 2087 feet but there is no need to walk all the way to the top in order to enjoy stunning views of Salzburg in the valley below. The beginning of any walk will take you past the six Stations of the Cross that were built in the early 18th century. The Capuchin monastery which is also on the lower slopes is most definitely worth visiting.

With every one of the recent articles about Blue-Ray Disc and HD-DVD, it might be useful to examine some more specialized considerations so as to supply a contextual backdrop. While Blue Ray was out so was Double Layer Media which ruthlessly competed against the Blue Ray Price. Yes the top quality is astonishing on Blue Ray but picture a Digital video disc or HD-DVD with double the layers, dual-layers for remarkable capacities exceeding 10 GB. This seventh installment in our series of Dvd and blu-ray articles is really a retrospective of some HD-DVD specs.

Format wars begin more than specialized specifications but wind up getting made the decision by business considerations. Therefore it had been throughout the old Betamax versus VHS war between Sony and Panasonic inside the late 1970s and early 1980s, and therefore it remained between Blue-Ray and HD-DVD recently. Inside the end, there weren’t that many differences among the two, but it was the increasing lack of industry support that doomed HD-DVD for the status of historical footnote much more than anything technological.

Hd DVD-ROM, Hi-def DVD-R, and Hd DVD-RW all provide single-layer capacities of 15 GB and dual-layer capacities of 30 GB, although Hd DVD-RAM has a single-layer capacity of 20 GB. In common with standard DVDs, an HD-DVD’s information layer was created being 0.6mm beneath the surface to ensure that some degree of protection from physical damage might be supplied. The aperture of an HD-DVD pickup head is 0.1mm smaller than that of a common Digital video disc, which is 0.6mm. Thus, all HD-DVD players are backward-compatible with DVDs and CDs.

Along with previous optical disc formats, the HD-DVD supported numerous filing systems, which includes ISO 9660 and Universal Disk Format (UDF). All HD-DVD titles released employed UDF a couple of.5, exactly where multiplexed audio and movie streams are stored in an EVO container structure. Audio encoding is supplied at up to 24-bit/192KHz stereo, or as much as eight channels at 24-bit/96-KHz. Linear or uncompressed PCM, Dolby Digital AC-3, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Electronic Plus, and Dolby TrueHD as well as DTS are supported. Secondary soundtracks are available as DTS-HD Higher Resolution Audio or DTS-HD Master Audio. LPCM can also be offered for audiophiles intent for the purest of high-fidelity.

As for video, HD-DVDs can be encoded in VC-1, AVC, or MPGEG-2 formats, and are capable of displaying a broad range of resolutions, from low-res CIF every one of the way towards the HDTV formats of 720p and 1080i/p. Movies on HD-DVD are featured inside a 1080-lined format whilst supplemental materials may be in 480i or 480p. Most releases have been encoded in VC-1 by far, with the vast majority of the remainder making use of AVC.

As pointed out on the starting, there are lots of reasons for the demise of an otherwise promising structure, but nearly definitely none are specialized. What leads for the consistent use of these high quality performing media entirely disregards specialized factors as well. It absolutely was the gradual loss of industry support that made the last determination.

Should You Buy A Hybrid Car

A hybrid car is a specifically planned and made vehicle that mixes the strength of the conventional gasoline motor and electricity. In the past, many have referred to hybrid cars as electric cars.

Technically, a hybrid automobile can not be classified as just electric because only about 40% of the energy use of the vehicle is from electric sources, in the form of collected electricity in batteries.

As oil costs continue to rise with depleting supplies and rapid expansion in demand, all economies globally are experiencing the setbacks of the need to limit high use of fuel.

For a long time, research and improvement has been vigorously finding ways on how struggles in regards to very high demand could finally be abolished. With the invention of the hybrid automobile, car owners and drivers all over the world are now manifesting comfort that yes there is hope.

Though the wide use of hybrid cars provides hope that in the future, when oil sources finally and fully run out, the transportation industry will not experience the drawback. Yes, at this time, driving a hybrid car could result in huge savings for the car owner.

At least, the overall usage of oil could be significantly reduced. Research continues to be ongoing so that in the near future, further more efficient versions of the modern hybrid car can be developed and launched into the market.

However, just like many other predecessor technologies, there are many problems to owning and using a hybrid automobile. Many people hope that in the upcoming months or years, people can finally realize a better and more useful hybrid vehicle. Here are the most realistic and understandable of those frustrations.

If the hybrid automobile gets into possible accidents and collisions in the future, there is a possibility that the incident would be more tragic. A hybrid automobile traditionally and usually has high voltage cables within it.

Because hybrid cars are still not quite rampant and regular, purchasing spare parts may be very challenging, if not impossible. In addition, costs of spare parts can be rather costly.

Any hybrid automobile needs to allocate a significant amount of space for batteries. Because the hybrid automobile needs batteries to make it work and for the use of some if its functions, the total weight of the automobile gets greater and greater.

Because the hybrid vehicle technology is still a fairly new automobile technology, it is just certain that the automobile is costly. On the average, a hybrid car these days costs more than the standard and typical automobiles by approximately $3,000 to $6,000.

That is just an average and is expected with the high demand for the car as more buyers get thrilled about it and manufacturers continue to make the automobile models on a restricted ability.

There are several states in the United States and some other global governments globally that are charging additional fees and other charges for possession and registration.

A regular and even basic hybrid automobile is composed of a very sophisticated automobile system. Thus, ordinary mechanics likely would not have the necessary and required skill set and understanding to attend to any technical requirement for repair of any hybrid automobile.
